Our Introduction to our Unit on Shadows.
We have begun learning about shadows, using light and colour. As a big part of our unit is to develop oral language skills, the children are working with a buddy to develop a project to create over the course of the week. The children will share their ideas in small groups and with the class. Working with a buddy also develops co-operative learning skills and relating to others.
To begin the unit we watched this youtube clip. The comments below are from some of the children immediately after watching it.
Madison and Bella:
We like the love hearts.I thought they were standing on each other to make them.
Isabella and Carlos:
When I grow up I want to do that. I liked it because it was really interesting and I like watching the show. I want to grow up and I want to watch it when Im a builder.
Rylee and Robert D:
I like when it turned into a car and a camel and tree. I liked the flowers.
Conlan and James:
I liked how they made all of the shadows. Conlan I liked how they made the camel into a tree.
Taylor:
We could do that in here.
Mela:
I liked the castle and how they fell in love.
Xanthe:
I was sad because the man died.
Robert M:
I liked the man shooting, and the camel.
Noah:
I liked the penguin that turned into a plane.
